About the Plantable Paper

Lightweight and eco-friendly, our plantable lotka paper is handmade in the highlands of Nepal by local craftsmen and craftswomen using raw Daphne bush 50% recycled materials. Each paper is farmed and harvested from 3-4-year-old plants and no plant is not destroyed during the process. Once the bark is removed and dried, villagers use these to provide fuel for cooking and producing the paper, and beaten by hand to break it down to a pulp. The paper is then dried in the sun and provides an earth-friendly approach to sourcing our greeting cards which are printed in Hong Kong by a small local shop, ensuring each stage of the process welcomes a wide community.

What can it grow into?

Our wildflower blend sprouts into any of the following: Snapdragon (Annual), Petunia (Annual), Beardtongue (Perennial), Daisy (Perennial), Thyme (Perennial), Poppy (Annual), Foxglove ( Biennial/Perennial ), Catchfly ( Biennial/Perennial ), Maiden Pinks (Perennial), Chamomile (Perennial).

How can I grow it?

Here's a little picture guide on how to plant the cards once you've finished with them:

Please note that plants need 4 hours of direct sunlight every day. Germination may start as quickly as one week or can take up to six weeks depending on your regional growing zone.

If you plant this paper in a pot, or in your garden please cover with just 1/8” of soil and keep moist until established.
